Institutional crypto trading platform Zodia Markets has announced some changes to its leadership team.

Mark Richardson has been appointed as CEO in addition to his current role as chief commercial officer for Zodia Markets Group.

Based in Dublin, he succeeds Michael Walsh who has been promoted to the role of executive chair.

According to a Zodia Markets statement, Walsh and Richardson will be expected to lead Zodia Markets Ireland’s governance, strategy and vision while also encouraging the firm’s growth in Ireland and the EU.

“I am honoured to [recognise] the critical importance of bolstering our European footprint, especially as we navigate the transition to a MiCA-regulated business,” said Richardson.

Zodia Markets has also appointed Lucia della Ventura as head of compliance, Ireland, highlighting the group's commitment to maintaining a compliance programme.

“I look forward to leading the development of the European compliance function for Zodia Markets against a backdrop of significant regulatory change,” said Ventura.

“As we plan our expansion in Europe, it presents an opportunity for our firm to empower institutional clients with simplified and safer access to digital assets.”
