Schroders appoints head of UK business

Guy HenriquesSchroders has re-organised the senior management of its UK distribution business and created a country head role, which it has given to Guy Henriques.

The appointment means Henriques is to return from Japan where he was country head from 2012 until August this year.

Robin Stoakley, currently managing director UK intermediary, will hand over his management functions to James Rainbow, head of UK financial institutions and strategic accounts, and Phil Middleton, head of UK intermediary business development, who will become co-heads reporting to Henriques.

Stoakley will go on to oversee Schroders’ relationships with global financial clients and develop its South African presence.

He and Henriques will report to John Troiano, global head of distribution, who said: “The changing dynamics of the UK market place and continued convergence of both the intermediary and institutional channels, specifically in the defined contribution and insurance areas, has meant that now is the right time for our business to appoint a country head for the UK that will lead and grow both channels. Guy’s experience and tenure at Schroders makes him the right person for the job.”

Henriques, who has previously been the firm’s global head of official institutions, also takes on responsibility for Schroders’ Latin America business across Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico.

Henriques joined the firm in 2006.
