NNIP creates Dutch institutional role

Maureen-SchlejenDutch asset manager NN Investment Partners (NNIP) has appointed Maureen Schlejen to head institutional relationships in the Netherlands.

The role is newly created and is intended to put more resources into the Dutch market.

A spokesperson told Funds Europe: “Previously, all institutional markets reported to one person, but as the Dutch market is a highly important and growing market for NN Investment Partners, it was decided to hire a dedicated head of institutional relations Netherlands, in order to put more focus on this market.”

Schlejen, who joins the firm on January 1, comes from Robeco where she worked for 20 years in Dutch asset management.

Her role will oversee the “whole playing field” in the Netherlands, the firm said, including fund and mandate asset management, fiduciary management, defined contribution and what are termed ‘APF’ funds, or general pension funds.

Martin Nijkamp, head of client group international and strategic business development at NNIP, said: “NNIP is investing considerable resources in order to expand its services capabilities, including the hiring of established talents with a thorough knowledge of the market and the needs of institutional investors.”

Schlejen said: “To me, NNIP is a true Dutch company with pension capabilities at its core.”
