UK-based specialist investment company Sustainable Development Capital (SDCL) has appointed Ben Story as group chief operating officer.
He joins from Rolls Royce where he was a member of the executive team with responsibility for strategy, corporate affairs and digitalisation.
Story also led the engineering firm’s transition to net zero and established new businesses in distributed energy, electric urban air mobility, small modular reactors and artificial intelligence.
Prior to his time at Rolls Royce, Story spent 25 years in the banking sector, most recently as head of UK investment banking at Citigroup.
He follows Joseph Muthu who established the group COO role and will retain his investment role at SDCL while also representing management on the SDCL board.
“[Story] is a significant figure in sectors where we operate, having held key roles at Rolls-Royce and major financial institutions,” said Jonathan Maxwell, SDCL chief executive.
