Northern Trust adds to digital assets team

Digital solutionsAsset servicer Northern Trust has appointed Michael Buzza as global head of network management and market strategy.

In the newly created role, Buzza will oversee the teams providing market insights across traditional securities markets but within NT’s digital assets and financial markets group.

The new unit was formed in June 2022 to marry NT’s traditional and digital market functions.

“[Buzza’s] role will be key to the ongoing management of our market-facing relationships across both traditional and digital markets,” said Justin Chapman, global head of the digital assets and financial markets group.

Buzza has spent 16 years at NT and played a role in the asset servicer’s investment in crypto custodian Zodia Custody.
