Global custodian Northern Trust has stepped up its front office outsourcing business with the appointment of Gary Paulin as head of global strategic solutions.
He will be based in London for the newly created position, reporting to Pete Cherecwich, president of corporate & institutional services at Northern Trust.
Paulin previously served as global head of integrated trading solutions.
He joined Northern Trust in 2016 following the acquisition of Aviate Global, an institutional equity brokerage firm he co-founded.
According to Cherecwich, Paulin’s experience in the front office was key to the appointment as the asset servicer looks to grow its outsourcing business.
Like other asset servicers, Northern Trust has looked to expand its offering beyond back and middle-office functions to include trading and order management.
