The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has named a former Goldman Sachs executive as its chief information officer (CIO).
Irfan Hussain was most recently chief operating and strategy officer for engineering at the Wall Street firm.
He will be based in New York for his new role, reporting to CEO David Schwimmer.
In addition to serving as a member of the exchange’s executive committee, Hussain will be expected to lead LSEG’s technology team.
Hussain replaces Tony McCarthy, who was appointed as CIO in 2020 and is set to retire in early 2024.
