Seasoned veteran Larry Cohen has been named as managing director and global head of technology and operations of US-based fund manager Lazard Asset Management.

Reporting to chief executive Evan Russo, he will be responsible for improving and refining the firm’s global technology, systems and operational infrastructure to support the “next stage of growth and expansion” of the business.

The appointment comes six months after Cohen joined the firm as a strategic advisor.

Prior to that, he was partner and global head of operations and technology at Alliance Bernstein.

Cohen has also held a number of operational and technology roles at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and UBS.
