Private markets exchange Forge has partnered with Germany’s Deutsche Boerse to develop a digital platform for European private companies.
Forge Europe will provide liquidity programs for companies and a digital marketplace for buyers and sellers as well as private market data for investors states the company.
The platform will also enable investors to access Forge’s US-based liquidity network.
According to Forge, the move has been inspired by the growth of the private market in Europe where 650 unicorn and pre-unicorn companies have a combined market cap of more than €625billion.
However, the growth of this market has also exposed the structural challenges that exist in terms of a lack of liquidity, transparent price discovery and digital transactions – challenges that Forge and Deutsche Boerse believe they can help to solve.
Forge Europe hopes to launch in mid-2023, initially in Germany, France and the UK before expanding to the rest of Europe.
