German exchange group Deutsche Boerse has acquired a majority stake in Crypto Finance, a digital asset trading and custody provider.
The Switzerland-based fintech will become part of Deutsche Boerse but will continue to operate as an independent operation led by CEO and co-founder Jan Brzezek who will also retain his stake in the company.
Crypto Finance gets the backing of a large exchange operator and a route into the German market, while Deutsche Boerse gets to add a digital assets service provider to its product range
The move was described by Eric Leupold, head of cash market at Deutsche Boerse as “a step further in our digital asset strategy”.
“We can now enable financial institutions and professional investors to enter the digital asset market,” he added.
