Capgemini wins UK pensions dashboard contract

Retirement fundCapgemini has been awarded the contract to supply the central technical architecture for the UK’s Pensions Dashboard Programme (PDP).

The PDP is an initiative backed by the UK government and designed to build a digital platform for UK pensions, providing pension holders with the ability to access all their savings information online.

The contract was awarded after a five month procurement process. Capgemini will work with fintech Origo to deliver a number of services as the platform moves to a ‘develop and test’ phase ahead of its planned completion date in 2024.

The project is seen as an important step in enabling more digital services for UK investors but will require work from various pension fund providers.

"I have previously urged pension schemes to get their data ready for dashboards,” said minister for pensions Guy Opperman.

“My message remains - schemes should be improving their data quality as part of their preparations for participating. The clock is ticking and this achievement is yet another reminder that schemes must be getting ready to connect,” he added.
