The UK’s Investment Association (IA) has announced the opening of its annual accelerator showcase for startups.
The Engine Innovator Programme has been run since 2018 with the aim of finding the most promising UK-based fintech startups focused on the asset management market.
It will run alongside the Sparks programme that is aimed at pre-seed, early-stage initiatives and will open for applications later in September. Applications for Engine and Sparks will close in November and October, respectively.
To date, there have been 34 fintech firms supported by either program while the IA, the trade association for the UK’s asset management industry, has signed memorandums of understanding with 12 asset management and technology centres.
“Innovation in investment management is crucial to enhancing the experience for the millions of people we serve across the UK and abroad,” said Gillian Painter, head of membership and Engine at the IA.
